About Kathy Osborne

Kathy Osborne set up her Human Resources Consultancy in June 2007, after fulfilling the role of HR Director for Hamleys of London. She experienced many changes during her time with the World famous toy store, not least of which was the successful management buyout in 2003, in which she played an integral part. She helped the organisation gain Investors in People status which required a significant cultural shift in both thinking and practices for the company and also guided the people-oriented aspects of the Company’s international expansion programme.

Before becoming a Human Resources Director, Kathy operated at senior management level in a number of major High Street retailers, giving her the unique advantage of thoroughly understanding business operations and the realities of being on the front line in a customer-oriented industry.Accordingly, Kathy will always work toward the most practical, workable and pragmatic solutions, asking her clients ‘what do YOU want the outcome to be?’

As an independent HR Consultant, Kathy has helped business with all aspects of HR Management. Her recent portfolio is extensive and includes the setting up of complete HR processes and procedures, production of company handbooks and all associated documentation. She has supported an in-house ‘Academy’ style training programme, taking employees from induction through to management with the aid of self-managed learning tools. Kathy has also created bespoke employee communication and attitude surveys to support productivity improvement exercises. She has a number of executive coaching clients who she works with on an ongoing individual basis.

Kathy is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a member of the International Coach Federation. She is a UK registered user of the Extended DISC personal analysis tool

In her spare time, Kathy is a recreational runner and takes part in a number of 10k and half marathon races each year. She has also completed the Flora London marathon 3 times and will be on the starting line again in April 2009.
